Inner Peace
Inner peace is not something that we need to learn, or to discover. Peace is the essence of what we truly are. When there is non-peace, it is not because peace is unknowable, or unattainable, but instead, because it has been forgotten. It has been covered up by conditioned patterns, beliefs, attachments, and identifications, all of which become a barrier to the true nature of love and peace that lives within each of us.
There is little difference between peace and love. Being at peace about something in a non-transient sense requires one to love it, to both accept it exactly as it is, and to see the innate value that the thing, experience, or person has by being that way. Inner peace then, is rather the same, as self-love. In order to be at peace with oneself, and the present moment that they exist within, love and acceptance of all that is within, is required.
The ability to love, and be at peace, to live in peace, exists within all of us. It is our true nature, our birthright, and within the power of each and every one of us to embody and live. The task that falls upon us, in each moment of non-peace, is to do the work to clear this layer of conditioning that we learned that taught us to forget our peace. This is an ongoing practice, and can become a way of life.
The heart, the soul, the inner peace, is the compass to follow through life. Whatever brings the best out of you, brings you joy, peace, contentment, and love, follow that. That which gets in the way of peace, clear, heal, or allow to fall away. It may not be easy, but it will always be worth it. Sometimes we must accept that which cannot be changed; often the perception that something cannot be changed is an illusion.
Inner peace is a choice, something to remember, something to realize we have been all along. The path of peace brings love and joy into our lives, and transforms our inner space into a wonderful place to be. I treat peace and love as my default inner state, and whenever I deviate from that, I understand that that deviation is not what I truly am, and do the work to find my way back to myself.
As always, I wish each of you reading this peace, joy, and love, your true nature and birthright.
